My father devoted all of his free time to this. He was originally a mathematician/cypher analyst (working "with" the NSA (wink wink)). He had spent over 2,000 hours working on this as his hobby when he was alive, I have no clue what his approach was or, well, anything about what he did, but I do have his work saved on about 700 5-inch floppy discs if anyone would/could be interested in retrieving the data off of them.

edit: I do know that the data is in a readable format (.txt files) and not some weird old proprietary file system. I also still have a closet full of data/punch cards if anyone is interested, I have no idea what is on them.
