As far as APIs go, I'm wondering if you guys do any messy screen scraping to find prices, or if there is an easier to use API to get prices for books more quickly and cleanly. I have a site that is forced to screen scrape data from others, and it's a terribly inefficient process

No way to get around that in the web sometimes. May I ask how you're doing the scraping? I'm currently building a website designed to simplify course planning for college students, and to get the class data I use a port of jQuery in Node.js called Cheerio and navigate through the page to clean data, but I feel like there has to be a better way to search for specific data in the DOM.
