I see here (https://action.aclu.org/secure/ICE-private-prisons) that you are only 80 or signatures away from your goal of 15,000 to petition DHS to drop private prisons. Should you reach your goal, what is the next step?

With so much attention being focused on private prisons, are you afraid that the public will be misled into thinking that the problem begins and ends there without realizing that almost all of the publicly run institutions have all of the same outrageous forms of abuse in equal frequency of occurrence?

Amy, if you and your colleagues could wave a magic wand and be granted the kind of prison that you would ultimately wish for, what would it look like?

How do you all feel about the state of prison reform at the moment? Do you feel we're at a tipping point, or that the journey has just begun? Do you have any statistics to indicate what the public mood is regarding private prisons, or, prison in general?

How good an idea would it be, do you suppose to close the 13th Amendment slavery loop-hole? If that were successful, wouldn't that instantly put an end to the legislators love affair with prison-as-as-solution-to-everything mentality--whether that prison be private or not?
