How does The Director keep track of the changes it's made already if it only has access to the historical record for the new timeline?

When Stargate Universe was cancelled after two seasons (I'm still devastated) Joe Mallozzi wrote this blog post where he discussed possible directions season 3 would have taken. One of them was that a character who was about to die anyway would have their consciousness overwritten by another character who would then pretend to still be the host. This blog post was six years ago. How did this concept make it into the show Travelers? Also, what would earlier versions of Travelers have looked like, before you made changes?

In the time the Travelers are from, is English spoken more or less the same as it is among the Travelers at ops?

OR

does it change between now and The Future as much as it did between Shakespeare's time and ours? Do teams get training in 21st century natural speech for their primary language? And in future seasons, would you be open to hiring a language creator to invent a Future-English for the show?

Are there any plans for bluray or even DVD release of Travelers, or is it just streaming for now? I'd love some commentary tracks
