as someone who is born and raised in Vancouver, has worked in QC, who's parents are from QC, and who spent time living with a SO in QC, I agree with OP. QC is much more hostile and uptight, and spend too much time holding on to what they believe to be their traditions. Other provinces, like BC, have embraced other cultures and are much more open to change and other people. Newfoundland I find has some of the friendliest people in the country that I have ever met.
