How did you guys manage to pitch this zany idea to an organization as strict in brand management as Disney?

Sorry for another parks and Rec question: but just curious how you felt about portraying a character that was the butt of everyone's jokes. Did you ever take it personally? Especially with Parks and Rec, the nature of the show was very sincere -yet some of the Jerry / Larry / Garry jokes seemed pretty mean.
