How did you get into being a taxi driver?

I have wondered about being a driver, just out of curiosity. Do you ever think about or plan to go completely solo, or is it better to stay sub-contracted in your area?

It seems like a cultural thing...being "tough" is something to be proud of. I suppose the ability to say you grew up/lived in Flint is a showcase of badassery.

I've never lived anywhere as dangerous as Flint, but I have lived in not-so-good areas. When I lived in those places (while I was growing up), there was sort of an obsession with fighting, which I never understood. Kids would ask "do you fight?" or "can you fight?"...and the 'toughest fighter' in the school was considered cool.

I later moved to a better area, and this wasn't even a thing. There were fights...maybe even more...but it wasn't tied to social status.

The more I write about the shitty school system I started in, the more it sounds like juvy.
