(For other readers I recommend reading all the way down the previous post for a fairly good understanding of why this is almost definitely a kid with no experience of the world.) you know, his reply to you has convinced more than anything (and I was already pretty sure) that this dude hasn't been where you have. Only a teenager would attempt to keep defending themselves with pedantry in the face of lived experience like that and a very legitimate moral question. A grown up would have expressed empathy. If life's taught me one thing, people who've been at the very bottom of the heap tend to have a fair bit more humility than most, and a hell of a lot more perspective.
